Chandrababu Naidu confidant Narendra Kumar arrested for corruption

The Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) has arrested close confidant of former Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, Dhulipalla Narendra Kumar(former MLA and Chairman of Sangam Diary, under provisions of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988, and the Indian Penal Code.

The Telugu Desam President Mr Chandrababu Naidu reacting wildly to the arrest said it was a bid to run the diary sector in the state into the ground. 

The ACB in a press release said that Dhulipalla Narendra Kumar, chairman of Sangam Milk Producers Company Limited, P Gopala Krishnan, Managing Director of the Sangam Diary and M Gurunadham, former District Cooperative Officer were booked under section 13(1)(c) and (d) of the Prevention of Corruption Act,1988, and also sections 408,418, 420, 465, 471, 120-B read with sec. 34 of the Indian Penal Code and arrested.

The offences committed under these sections cover cheating, defrauding, breach of trust and other similar violations.The ACB press release said that an inquiry made into the functioning of Sangam dairy, a company the operating revenues of which touched Rs 500 crore in 2020, brought to light several financial and administrative irregularities committed under the chairmanship of Mr Narendra. Kumar.  

The allegations against Mr Narendra Kumar were serious and the material available prima facile indicated abuse of official position for misappropriation of Government assets, the ACB release said. 

There are already some very serious allegations of land grabbing in Amaravati pending against Mr Narendra Kumar.As an MLA and person close to the then Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, Mr Narendra Kumar, used his influence to register in his name 3.89 acres of rivulet land in his name. For this he put pressured on revenue  department officials to create three documents and links. The market value of the land was Rs 5 crore. The MLA also encroached 50 acres of poramboke (govt.) land in Nambur village in Pedakakani mandal and converted it into agricultural land by digging bore wells in the land which has never been cultivated. A Special Investigation Team is already inquiring into the several concessions given to Heritage Diary that belongs to Mr Chandrababu Naidu. All diaries that were run by cooperative societies in the state began to go into losses after Heritage came into the picture.
